Allow your child to try one or two strategies before you help with the word. We want students to practice, but we don’t want them to become too frustrated.

- Do a s-l-o-w check.
- Read it Part by Part
- Use a word you know.
- Crash the Parts together.
- Try it many ways.
- Check if it is a snap/sight word.
