HeartSaver

HSE Nurses Heather Lee, Karen Wright and Amy Hanna have become certified to provide the HeartSaver program for teachers and non-medical staff and BLS programs for health care professionals.

You have the following options to complete the HeartSaver education course and skills training:

Option 1

Attend the full class with an instructor which includes the education course and skills training. This class takes approximately 2 hours depending on class size. The cost for this course is $45 and includes your certification card.

Classes are each Wednesday, alternating between 3:30pm or 4:30pm. Skills.

Option 2

Complete the education course online through the American Heart Association (AHA) website and attend the skills training only with an instructor. The cost of the online course via AHA is $16 then $30 for the skills portion. The cost of the certification card is included with the skills portion cost.

If you choose this option, you can sign up for the skills only class and a nurse will send you the link for the online course. Once you complete the course, you MUST bring proof of completion of the online course to the skills training.
Classes are each Tuesday, alternating between 3:30pm or 4:30pm

Cost

BLS Training is offered for health professionals and the class includes both the education course and skills. The cost is $65 and also includes a certification card. The class takes approximately 2.5 hours depending on class size.

How to Pay

Payments can be made through Venmo, PayPal and Zelle ahead of the class. Cash and check will be accepted by pony prior to the day of the class or at the beginning of class you are attending. If payment is not provided before the class you’re attending, you may be asked to reschedule. We cannot accept credit cards at this time.

What to do After Signing Up

Once you sign up for a class, you will receive an email from one of the nurses with the information regarding what you need to bring to class, the link for the online education course (skills only class) and payment options specific to the nurse teaching the class.

RAVE Reviews

Do you know an employee who makes HSE Schools a better place for others? Do you know someone who exemplifies the Mission of HSE Schools? Have you observed an employee who goes above and beyond their job responsibilities/duties to make a difference? These individuals deserve a 5-star “RAVE Review!”

The goal of the RAVE (Recognizing All Valuable Employees) Review is to identify and honor those, in their contributions and service to HSE Schools, exemplify our mission. All recipients will receive a RAVE Review window cling to proudly display their nomination in their workspace, a certificate and recognition letter with their review. Through the Staff Appreciation sponsorship, one employee will be selected each month in a random drawing by the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation for a $100 gift card. Employees can be recognized multiple times and will receive their reviews, but they will not be eligible for more than one window cling or certificate. In addition, recipients are only eligible to win the HSEF prize drawing once per school year.
